What causes oil varnish in rotary screw compressors, and how do your oils prevent it?
Varnish forms when the lubricant breaks down under high temperatures, shear stress, and exposure to oxygen. Hydrocarbon molecules polymerize to form insoluble sticky residues that settle on bearings, valves, and oil separators. Our advanced synthetic formulation uses highly stable base stocks and selected antioxidant packages to inhibit polymerization, ensuring clean operations and long fluid lifespans.
Why is water separation (demulsibility) critical for compressor oil performance?
Air compression generates condensate water. If the oil cannot separate from water quickly, it forms an emulsion. This emulsion reduces oil film strength, accelerates corrosion, and blocks filter elements. Our lubricants are designed to quickly shed water, allowing it to settle at the bottom of the sump for drainage.
What are the key differences between synthetic (PAO) and mineral oil for screw compressors?
Polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic oils provide excellent thermal and oxidation stability, low pour points, and a high natural viscosity index without viscosity index improvers. Mineral oils, while cost-efficient, are more prone to thermal breakdown and varnish. For continuous industrial operations above 85°C, synthetic PAO fluids are recommended to achieve service lifetimes up to 8,000 hours.
Can your rotary screw compressor oils be mixed with other OEM brands?
We do not recommend mixing different lubricants. Additive chemistry conflicts can lead to precipitation, foam generation, and reduced fluid performance. We advise performing a full system flush when transitioning to our formulations to ensure optimal performance and long service life.
How does your factory control blending consistency and accuracy?
Our blending facility uses mass-flow control systems. Additives and base stocks are metered dynamically. In our fully automated packaging systems, we maintain a volumetric filling accuracy of 1‰-2‰, ensuring consistency from batch to batch.
